Numerous Central Islip School District Staff Honored at SCOPE Awards

Five Central Islip school district employees were recognized at the SCOPE Education Services 24th Annual School District Awards Dinner at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook on Monday, March 24.

Mr. Luis Alcantara, board of education president, was given the school board service award. Mrs. Britnae Tillett, Alfano teacher assistant, accepted a community service award. Mrs. Roann Roderick, Central Islip High School science teacher, and Mr. George McKenzie, CIHS music theory teacher, were each presented with teacher service awards.

Mr. Philip K. Voigt, director of music education and technology, earned an administration service award.

Among those in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sharon A. Dungee; Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Jessica Iafrate; Assistant Superintendent for Administration Matthew Matera; District Clerk Denise Ridgeway; Assistant to the Superintendent Barbara LaMonica; Reed guidance counselor Ericca Jones Marshall; and the entire Board of Education: Vice President Debra Cavanagh and trustees Michele Harriott, Glenn C. Mitchell, Jim Musumeci, Ralph Delgado Jr., and Maureen Esposito.
