Musketeer Monday Part Two: Jennifer Solares

This week’s Musketeer Monday features Mrs. Jennifer Solares, a dedicated member of the Central Islip School District since 2001. She began her career in the Department of Special Education Office and, in August 2023, transitioned to the Main Office of Alfano Elementary School.

Mrs. Solares exemplifies professionalism and efficiency in her role. She describes her duties as follows:
"I have the privilege of working under the exceptional leadership of Ms. Carmen Vazquez and her team. I manage administrative tasks for our Principal, Ms. Vazquez, which include maintaining her calendar, handling communications with staff, parents, and students, organizing office files, and providing confidential support. In essence, I serve as the primary point of contact for the school’s Main Office, ensuring smooth daily operations and addressing various administrative needs.”

While her responsibilities are extensive, Mrs. Solares shared that the most rewarding part of her job is working with students.
"The greatest rewards are definitely the students," she said. "There’s nothing better than seeing their smiling faces when they share an accomplishment or simply stop by to say 'hello.' Knowing I’ve made a difference in their day—or even their lives—is incredibly fulfilling.”

Outside of work, Mrs. Solares enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She also has a passion for crafting, which allows her to express her creativity. Her decorating talents brighten the halls of Alfano Elementary, bringing holiday and seasonal themes to life.

Mrs. Solares takes great pride in raising her family in Central Islip. "My three children attend different schools within the district and have had positive educational experiences. I’m so proud to live and work in such a diverse and vibrant community,” she said.

Principal Ms. Vazquez shared glowing praise for Mrs. Solares.

"Mrs. Solares is a true gem. She always goes above and beyond and is a phenomenal team player. Her passion for this community and her willingness to help anyone in need are unmatched. Her customer service skills are stellar, and she is adored by teachers, students, and parents alike.”
